Fed Up of Waste Materials? It’s Time to Recycle Them

Fed Up of Waste Materials? It’s Time to Recycle Them

by Priti on October 9, 2013

Do you have lots of waste materials inside your home and don’t know what to do with it, except for throwing it off. Hold on guys, I have something very creative to show you! You can now recycle your waste materials to get the best out of it. Hope you like it..

Try Out Making Some Best Items Out of Waste Materials

WOW, finally I have so many ideas to recycle and reuse my old stuffs. I was literally fed up of watching so many old, use less and torn items inside my home. Now, I can get something creative out of it.

Actually, these are some of the best out of waste ideas that I have discovered recently, and tested a few of them for my home as well. Must tell, it really works!

Okay now let us begin with our first project to recycle waste materials i.e. a ready to throw egg cartons to a perfect lighting system. Whoa, sounds great! All you need is a carton of eggs, acrylic colors and lights. I don’t eat eggs but still this is the best protein it can offer me.

Now, divide the cones of the egg carton and cut it into four slits, assuming it as petals. Use acrylic colors of your choice and paint them. Repeat it for three cones and insert them into each other by sticking it, the inner most carton doesn’t need slits, keep it simple.

Finally, make a hole passing through all three cone and insert light wires and bulbs passing through. Your carton lighting is ready. Hey, you can even use these to make simple flowers and insert into a small branch of a stark tree.

I remember, when I was a kid I used to have a pigeon with me, but it flew away :( and I cried a lot watching her cage again and again. Is that a problem with you too?

Well, then I have a reason to make you smile. Use your waste bird-cage to the best decor ever. For a cozy look, light up some candles and your best out of waste decor is ready.

Hey, before I share this idea of making waste bottle to a beautiful bowl, let me first warn you that this recycling craft is only for adults…though your little ones can eat the fruits kept inside it.

Plastic Bottle Recycled to Basket

Ha ha…I don’t know why I felt like laughing at this adorable zip pouch bottle pack. Actually it looks so cute…Want to try making it? All you need to do is:

1. Cut the base of two cold-drink bottles with the help of a knife or a hexa blade.

2. Use adhesive tape at the edges to make an auxiliary construction to follow.

3. Now, with the help of a thick needle, pierce holes for stitching zipper.

4. Remove the tape and open the zip lock. Start stitching one part of the the zip lock (inward, leaving 2 cm. from the zip end) with the help of the needle and nylon thread.

5. Repeat the process for the second bottle base and make it look like a box. That’s it! :)

Please make one extra for me. :)

Waste Bottle Put to Best

Droom droom…move a side please. Break!

Phew…you know what, once I was walking on the street and saw a car coming in fast motion towards me. Damn! The driver of that car almost drowned me…then what, I got angry on a driver and puncher his car tyre. Huh.., further I pulled out his car tyre made this… :D Isn’t this colorful neon tyre planters looking cool?

Old Tyre to Plant Containers Recycled

Oh…by the way…the story that I had just told you has nothing to do with reality. ;) But you can do so next time you get angry on some drivers. :P

Let me first introduce you to my sweet little friend Vidhi, who made this so creative and best use of old tyre of her old scooter. Hey, please don’t take off the tyres of your Dad’s functional scooter else you will be running around with your father chasing you. :P

Best Out of Waste

Gosh! I was so in need of this idea to use waste burlap to the best. My mother orders her ladies stuffs in bulk for sale from outside which we receive in large cartons covered with burlap all over. Now I know the best use of those ugly-looking burlap to beautiful roses. Here’s the full tutorial.

Wait and look at this idea of using old handbags. WOW! I have a habit of collecting everything old and obsolete, not because I like them but I always think of giving it to someone who needs it the most.

Hence my room looks more like a store-room. :-/ But this time I have bucked up (!) and will re purpose all old stuffs which includes this idea of wall hanging made using old handbag & decorated with fake flowers and photo frames.

Old Waste Bags Transformed to Wall Hangings

Tin lanterns? Whoa! Why didn’t I think of this so unusual idea? This is going to be so interesting for decorating my small garden for evening date party. :D Let’s get started and make this fun project.

Waste Tin Can Lanterns

Watch out! You have someone looking at you. Oh…they are hiding in between your plants. Aww…these are so sweet creatures out there. Do you like collecting sand stones from the shores and seas?

Well, I love collecting all natural things like shells and twigs. I am falling in love with these cuties. Make them yourself and place it in between your plants. I am sure..your guests and these cuties will gaze at each other. :)

Somebody is Watching You

Okay ladies, this so creative and designer jewellery stand belongs to you. Make the best use of your totally waste cold drink bottle’s base and keep it stylish!

For people who love being rustic and bored of using their old shredded denim or if it doesn’t fit you anymore…just bring it on. Cut it and use board pins to make a perfect denim cover for your favorite arm-chair/couch. Ouch! I just ragged my brother’s jeans. :P

Coloring egg-shells is an old idea, here is a very fresh idea to get the best out of waste material. Take half broken shells and put in it candles used for decoration. A perfect table top decoration is right here.

Hey, what do you actually do when you have color palate samples of paint? Throw it off? Damn! Even I did the same thing but this time I am going to make sure that I use it to make colorful butterflies of different shades. And for base you can blindly go for your old frames. WOW! This looks so mesmerizing.

Out of the several best out of waste crafts I’ve come across, this is the simplest of all. Now that we are using glass wares for home, our old and antique kitchen utensils have lost its value. But at the same time we don’t feel like throwing it away or sell it. Well, you don’t need to do that. Here is a great idea to reuse your waste utensils as planters. Nice idea indeed, the best that you can get from a waste material!

Hi Shyamsundar….hope your daughter had a great day at the competition…btw what’s the
best way to cut cds, especially when handled by children.

Reply

27 Priti February 26, 2013 at 4:26 pm

Hi Renu, the easiest way to cut CD’s is to use a robust scissor or place the CD’s in for 5 minutes in boiled water, it softens and can be easily cut using scissors. Don’t allow your kids to do it, also, if the edges are still sharp you can rub sandpaper over it. Happy crafting! :)

Reply

Hi Medha! Am so glad you liked the idea so much! Do try any of these following things, will definitely work:
1. A hot glue gun
2. Permanent glue like feviquick
3. A thin layer of putti or m-seal for the base. :)

thanks Priti…really thanks for ur reply.sure i would really love that idea..before seeing ur post i had that idea..but didn’t get right glue to stick them.but now i got ur help so i cud do it..even that waste cd’s photo frame too too good..but if am trying to cut them they break like upper part n lower part of cd’s..thank you..

Reply

112 Priti June 3, 2013 at 11:52 pm

Tips for you: the easiest way to cut CD’s is to use a robust scissor or put the CD’s for 5 min in boiled water, it softens and can be easily cut. If the edges are sharp, rub sandpaper over it. Hope this helps!

A Big Big Hi to Priti, u wud not even imagine how impressed & sweetly surprised I am. I m a mom of a 10 yr old boy who now & then usually keep getting some or the other project/creative works. Your ideas will not only help him & me doing those projects but will also be tried personally to amaze everyone.

Also, I am about to receive possession of our new home, I was pretty concerned about the walls as now-a-days, Wall papers are in once again but they are damn expensive. Had a look at your vinyl wall stickers, amazingly superby beautiful they are & my worries are blown away. Will definitely try those stickers.

Thanks for making our lives easier & walls & houses prettier.
