Beautiful Designs and Patterns on Glass: Where You Can Paint Everything!

Hmm…so what was the last thing you created on your own? What, nothing??? Haven’t you tried making Warli art  that I’d shared in my previous post yet? Ah, okay… take your time, I won’t mind but will keep on reminding you like an alarm clock.

Okay people, I am going to show something very distinctive and mind-boggling which will inspire you to show off your creativity. Today we are going to learn making glass painting designs & patterns. Sounds interesting!

As I was not much into searching stuffs on the internet, I made a fuss by paying huge amount in learning this glass painting technique. Yay…I was so happy when I joined the classes but hey…the painting that I made was a boo boo :(

No, it wasn’t my fault at all (though I was bunking classes), I did what my teacher taught me. Actually, she was the only one in my near by area where I can get to learn about this famous and well-known glass painting technique.

I didn’t get to know that she is telling us the wrong techniques, until I visited my friend’s home and saw some incredible designs she made and had put it very nicely on her walls. WOW! What a beauty it was…

Ah, with that colorful memory, let me first start with wonderful designs that you can experiment painting on wine glasses and other beautiful stuffs for home decor.

Aww…look at these cute little kids made on glass…my niece actually looks like these kids drawn over here. I can literally feel the joy my niece will have, when I’ll make this for her.

almost a decade ago, I had done a couple of glass paintings, I remember them to be a lot of fun! Totally adore the chalkpaint on glasses! :D

2 Priti January 3, 2013 at 10:48 pm

The chalk-paint idea is same as we use it for painting walls of kids room. But using it on a glass is something different. I think this will be a new concept for many people. Even I tried my hands on glass paintings but it didn’t turn out well..I’ll try it again! :)

Hi Priti, all your paintings are fine. But the Peacock art work is fantastic. I usually do fabric painting on the sarees for my wife. Recently I started glass painting. But I’m very much interested in stained glass work. I’ll be grateful if you can explain me about the peacock work, or can you suggest if any books available on this particular subject. Thanks and Regards

I liked all your creations. I am reasonably good in drawing and painting on paper. Can I try my work on glass too? What should be the type of mediums I should use? Is it a different way to paint on flat surfaces? Please help me in achieving my ambition to do a glass surface painting for presenting to my daughter in Hong Kong. Thanks.

43 raji September 8, 2014 at 11:03 pm

hi i like very much peacock painting .can i do that?

44 Mihir Mehta October 28, 2014 at 10:22 pm

We can also stick small colorful beads and make it look more attractive. Also, use of buttons on a window glass will make it look trendier. These are some simple methods you can try; you don’t have to be an artist for this one. Try it and enjoy.
